Whats the difference between Epsom salts and Pink Himalayan Salts?

Epsom salt is not actually salt, it is a mineral Magnesium sulphate. But it is referred to as salt because it has a crystalline structure that is similar to salt. Epsom salt was first distilled in Epsom in the 1800’s and has been named after the town ever since. Magnesium is great for lots of health conditions ranging from stress and insomnia to aches and pains and is best in a bath. Pour a handful of the salts in to a running bath and lie back and have a soak. See here for a quick read on the benefits of magnesium.

Himalayan salts are made from magnesium plus 82 other minerals including sodium and chloride so is actually a salt! It is one of the purest salts available and is known for its anti-microbial, anti- bacterial and anti-fungal properties. It is great for a wide range of ailments similar to Epsom salts most notably its anti-inflammatory properties. Similarly to Epsom salts pour a handful in to a running bath and lie back and soak.

Please remember that with all salt baths it is a good idea to have a cold glass of water to drink whilst bathing and be careful when getting out of the tub as you may feel a little dizzy. A little lie down after having a salt bath is ideal.
